HEART TREATMENT IN INDIA
Heart surgery in India
Cardiac centres in Delhi NCR perform bypass surgery, valve replacement, angioplasty and complex children’s heart surgery for patients from around the world. We get your reports reviewed by experienced cardiac teams and send you a plan and written estimate before you travel.
Medical recommendations come from your qualified treating clinicians.
Heart treatment in India for international patients
India’s large cardiac centres carry out thousands of heart procedures every year, and their teams include interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anaesthetists and intensive care specialists who work together.
Many patients first need an angiogram or echocardiogram review to decide between medicines, angioplasty and surgery. Sharing your reports before you travel means the team can tell you which is likely to be recommended and what it may cost.

Heart conditions and procedures
Cardiac teams in India treat coronary artery disease, valve disease, heart rhythm problems, heart failure and congenital heart defects. Procedures include:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), including beating-heart surgery
- Valve repair and replacement, and TAVI (TAVR) without open surgery
- Angioplasty with stents
- Pacemakers and implantable defibrillators (ICDs)
- Repair of holes in the heart (ASD, VSD) and other congenital defects
- Heart transplant for end-stage heart failure
Choosing a heart hospital and surgeon
Ask how many of your procedure the team performs each year, whether a cardiac intensive care unit is on site, and who will look after you after surgery. For children, choose a centre with a dedicated pediatric cardiac surgery and intensive care team.
How Orvica helps
We share your reports, with your consent, with suitable cardiac teams in Delhi NCR and send you their opinion, a proposed treatment plan and a written estimate. If you would like to speak to the specialist first, we arrange a video consultation on request. Once you choose, we arrange your medical visa letter, free airport pickup and drop, interpreters if needed and help finding accommodation near the hospital.
Reports to send for a free case review
Your coordinator confirms the exact list after your enquiry. Usually it includes:
- Angiography report or CD
- Echocardiogram report
- ECG
- Recent blood tests and a list of current medicines
Costs and length of stay
Costs depend on the procedure, the valve or stents used and your health, so we don't quote a fixed price. After bypass or valve surgery, most patients spend about a week in hospital and two to three weeks in India in total. See our heart surgery cost guide for details.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an angiogram before travelling?⌄
If you have one, send the report and CD. If not, the hospital may advise doing it in India, often in the first days of your visit.
How long after heart surgery can I fly home?⌄
Most patients fly home about two to three weeks after bypass or valve surgery, once the surgeon is happy with recovery. Angioplasty patients can usually fly sooner.
Can you help with a child’s heart surgery?⌄
Yes. Pediatric cardiac teams in Delhi NCR operate on babies and children with congenital heart defects. Send the echocardiogram report for a free review.
What is TAVI?⌄
TAVI (also called TAVR) replaces a narrowed aortic valve through a catheter, usually from the groin, without open-heart surgery. It suits some older or higher-risk patients.
