CANCER TREATMENT COST IN INDIA

Cancer treatment cost in India

Cancer care is planned around your diagnosis, stage and reports, so no two estimates are the same. We share your case with experienced oncology teams and get you a free written treatment plan and estimate before you travel.

Medical recommendations come from your qualified treating clinicians.

01

Why cancer treatment costs differ

Your plan comes from a team of specialists, often called a tumour board. The main factors are:

  • The type, stage and spread of the cancer
  • Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or a combination
  • The number of chemotherapy cycles or radiation sessions
  • Targeted therapy or immunotherapy medicines, which can cost far more than standard chemotherapy
  • Scans and tests needed to confirm or restage the cancer
  • Hospital, specialist and room category

02

What a cancer care estimate usually covers

Ask each hospital what’s included and how the plan is broken down. An estimate may list consultations, scans, surgery, a set number of chemotherapy cycles or radiation sessions, and the hospital stay. These are often extra:

  • Additional cycles or sessions if the plan changes
  • Targeted or immunotherapy medicines
  • Repeat scans such as PET-CT
  • Treatment of side effects or complications

Getting a treatment plan before you travel

After your enquiry, your coordinator collects your biopsy report, recent scans and any previous treatment records securely. Hospitals review them and send a proposed plan and estimate. The final plan is confirmed after the specialists examine you and review any new tests in India.

04

How long to plan for in India

It depends on the plan. Surgery may need two to four weeks in India, including recovery. A course of radiation usually runs for several weeks, and chemotherapy is given in cycles over months. For some patients, part of the treatment can continue at home. The hospital confirms what applies to you.

05

Choosing a hospital and specialist

Compare hospitals on the specialist’s experience with your treatment, the written estimate and what it includes, and how follow-up will work once you are home.
